Description:N-Acetylcysteine is an amino acid that is used as a drug to treat acetaminophen (paracetamol) overdose, in the treatment of chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis, and to reduce the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy in patients undergoing angiography.
