VIP Antagonist also inhibits toll-like receptor signaling pathways by blocking TLR2 and TLR4, which are receptors on immune cells that recognize bacterial products. In addition, this drug binds to human immunoglobulin G (IgG) and prevents it from binding to its Fc receptor on immune cells, thus preventing IgG-mediated complement activation or antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity.
