Description:Br-PBTC is a potentiator of the effects of estradiol. It has been shown to have allosteric modulating activity on α subunit nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, which are involved in the pharmacological effect of Br-PBTC. The sequence analysis of the receptor revealed that Br-PBTC interacts with 17β-estradiol and enhances its binding affinity to the receptor. This interaction may be due to an increase in the number of estradiol molecules bound to the receptor, or by increased conformational changes induced by Br-PBTC at the receptor site.
