Description:
Sodium trifluoroacetate is a great intermediate for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Reactions of carbonyls with sodium trifluoroacetate, catalysed by Cu(I) halides, afford trifluoromethylated secondary and tertiary alcohols. Sodium trifluoroacetate is also an excellent tool for trifluoromethylation of aromatic halides.
