Micromelin is an indole alkaloid that belongs to the class of phebalosin. It has been shown that micromelin has cytotoxic effects against cholangiocarcinoma cells and also induces apoptosis in these cells. Micromelin is a metabolite of dihydrocinnamic acid, which is found in the genus Centrothea. The structure of micromelin contains a coumarin ring, which can be found in many plants such as parsley, dill, and fenugreek. The structures of artemia amide and fatty acid are similar to those found in micromelin.
