Product Information
- Ethyl 4-Iodphenylacetate
Ethyl 4-iodophenylacetate (EIPA) is a potential new anti-cancer drug. It can be used to treat oesophageal cancer and other solid tumours by targeting the tumour cells. The uptake of EIPA in the target organ can be determined by measuring the concentration of radiolabeled EIPA in the blood, which can be detected by PET scanning. The termination of EIPA-labeled cells can also be determined by measuring the level of radioactivity, which decreases as the cells are cleared from the body. In vivo studies have shown that EIPA has anti-proliferative effects on human cancer cell lines and xenografts in mice.
