Product Information
- 1,2-Di(alpha-naphthyl)ethane
- 1,1'-Ethane-1,2-Diyldinaphthalene
1,2-Di(1-naphthyl)ethane is an activated ethane molecule. It is used in cross-coupling chemistry to form C-C bonds by reacting with aryl halides. 1,2-Di(1-naphthyl)ethane can react with anions or dianions and aluminium to form a skeleton. This process can be accelerated by the addition of chloride, additives, or iron catalyst. 1,2-Di(1-naphthyl)ethane has been shown to have bond cleavage properties with infrared spectrometry and can be used as a residue in organic synthesis.
