Description:

Lithium 2-ethylhexoxide is a carbon source that can be used in the synthesis of organic molecules. It has been used as a solvent for ferroelectric materials, such as lead zirconate titanate and strontium barium niobate. Lithium 2-ethylhexoxide has also been used in cyclic voltammetry and profilometry techniques to study the orientation of molecules.
Lithium 2-ethylhexoxide is soluble in hydrocarbon solvents, such as benzene and toluene, but insoluble in water. It has been shown to have activity against clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, and carboxylates.
