Description:
1H,1H-Perfluoro-1-tetradecanol is a potential clinical use that is a long chain, perfluorinated surfactant. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of emulsions and can be used as an effective dose for the transfer of insoluble compounds. 1H,1H-Perfluoro-1-tetradecanol may also have potential in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Sprague Dawley rats were administered 1H,1H-perfluoro-1 tetradecanol by inhalation and showed significant reductions in lung inflammation and lung injury. 1H,1H-Perfluoro-1 tetradecanol also has been shown to be effective at inhibiting pulmonary surfactant secretion and reducing lung inflammation.
