Isoquinolin-1-ylmethanamine is an amide that has been shown to be a potent and selective inhibitor of serine protease. It is used as a pharmaceutical agent in clinical studies for the treatment of congestive heart failure and thromboembolic disorders. Isoquinolin-1-ylmethanamine inhibits serine proteases such as thrombin, factor Xa, and factor VIIa by binding to their active site. This drug also has biological properties, including cyclopentanol inhibition of platelet aggregation, anticoagulant activity, and anti-inflammatory activities.
