Product Information

Name:
2,3-Dichloro-6-nitroaniline
Description:

2,3-Dichloro-6-nitroaniline is a nitro compound that is used as an antibacterial agent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus bacteria, with a selectivity for gram-positive organisms. 2,3-Dichloro-6-nitroaniline has also been shown to have catalytic effects on the reaction of nitroarenes with morpholine in the presence of alginic acid. This chemical can be synthesized by reacting sodium nitrite with morpholine and dichloroacetamide in boiling water and then adding zinc chloride. The reaction time varies depending on the concentration of reactants. 2,3-Dichloro-6-nitroaniline has anti HIV activity due to its ability to block electron transfer in viral DNA polymerases.
