Dihydroxybis(ammonium Lactato)titanium(IV) is a chemical compound that has the chemical formula TiOCl2. It is a white, crystalline powder with a melting point of about 118 degrees Celsius. Dihydroxybis(ammonium Lactato)titanium(IV) can be synthesized by reacting titanium tetrachloride and ammonium hydroxide in the presence of hydrochloric acid. Dihydroxybis(ammonium Lactato)titanium(IV) can also be prepared by the reaction of titanium dioxide and ammonium lactate in ethanol with the addition of water to form colloidal crystals. This product is soluble in water and alcohol, but insoluble in ether or acetone. It is used as a catalyst for hydrogenation reactions, as well as for other industrial applications such as making microspheres, which are tiny spheres made out of polymeric materials that are used
