Description:
2-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-piperazine is a piperazine derivative that binds to the serotonin transporter and blocks its function. It has been shown to have affinity for the serotonin transporter in radioligand binding assays, with an IC50 of 0.8 μM. 2-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-piperazine also acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT1A receptor, with an EC50 of 1.0 μM. This compound has optimal activity at a cycloalkyl group length of 4-6 carbon atoms and is a potent antagonist, with an IC50 of 0.3 μM.
