8-Methylpyrido[2,3-d]pyridazin-5(6H)-one is a synthetic drug that has been shown to be effective against microorganisms and cancer cells. It is also an antibiotic, antiparasitic and antiviral agent. 8-Methylpyrido[2,3-d]pyridazin-5(6H)-one has been used in the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma. The chemical structure of 8-methylpyrido[2,3-d]pyridazin-5(6H)-one is similar to the natural product pyrimethamine, which is used as an antimalarial agent. 8MPP is also effective against viruses and fungi that cause infections in humans.
