5-Methoxybenzene-1,3-dicarbaldehyde is a supramolecular compound that features a square planar structure. It is soluble in solvents such as benzene and alkoxys, which are chemically like it. The ligand may be synthesized by reacting the dicarbaldehyde with dimethyl sulfate or thiocyanogen.
