L-Arginyl-L-seryl-L-arginine acetate is a peptide that has been shown to activate the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which regulates intracellular concentrations of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The activation of this enzyme results in increased levels of cGMP, which can lead to vasodilation and smooth muscle relaxation. L-Arginyl-L-seryl-L-arginine acetate has been shown to be an inhibitor of the ion channels TRPM2 and TRPM4 and can be used to study protein interactions with these channels. This peptide also binds to receptors for ligands such as bradykinin and angiotensin II.
