Product Information

Name:
Isosalvipuberulin
Description:

Isosalvipuberulin is a flavonoid that is found in the genus Isosalvia. It has been shown to have anti-cancer effects on human hepg2 cancer cells and HCT116 cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. Isosalvipuberulin also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by blocking DNA synthesis and preventing cell division. The skeleton of isosalvipuberulin was elucidated using x-ray diffraction data, which showed that it contains a flavonoid nucleus with a labiate (substituted benzene) ring system. Isosalvipuberulin's chemo-structural properties were verified using vibrational spectroscopic data analysis, which revealed that it has a strong absorption band at 220 nm in the visible region of the spectrum, as well as an intense band at 1650 cm-1 in the infrared region.
