Product Information
Kanshone A is a serotonin transporter inhibitor that is extracted from the rhizomes of the Caprifoliaceae. It has been shown to have antidepressant effects in animal models, which may be due to its ability to inhibit monoamine reuptake and increase serotonin levels in the brain. This compound has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in mice, including IL-2, IL-6, and TNF-α. This activity may be due to Kanshone A's ability to change transcription factors, such as NF-κB. Kanshone A also has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which is a mediator of inflammation.
