Description

Galanolactone is a diterpene with anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anticancer properties. It inhibits the release of neurokinin-1 from nerve cells. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in culture by preventing the production of colony-stimulating factor and interleukin 1. Galanolactone has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on influenza virus A2 and B3 strains. This drug is not well absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract but can be administered intravenously or by inhalation. Galanolactone is not associated with any allergic reactions but may cause symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
