Flemiphilippinin A is a philippinensis from the genus Flemiphilippinina. It has potent inhibitory activity against aromatase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of testosterone and androstenedione to estrogens. The inhibitory activity of Flemiphilippinin A was also observed against human cancer cells in vitro. Additionally, this compound has been shown to have plant disease control properties due to its ability to inhibit the germination rate of fungi. Furthermore, Flemiphilippinin A has been found to be a potent inhibitor of estrogen production, which may be related to its ability to induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells.
