It has been shown to be effective against c. glabrata in vitro, with optimum concentrations being between 10 and 50 μM. Ethyl 4,6-dichloro-2-formylnicotinate also has anti-inflammatory properties through inhibition of IL10 production in mouse macrophages. This drug can be used as a chemical pesticide due to its inhibitory effects on the activity of various enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in plants.
