Description:PBD-150 is a synthetic, low-energy fatty acid ester that has been shown to have neuroprotective properties in experimental models of Alzheimer's disease. PBD-150 has been reported to inhibit the metathesis reactions of long chain fatty acids by forming an adduct with a catalyst. This prevents the release of reactive oxygen species and protects cells from oxidative damage. PBD-150 also inhibits the production of amyloid beta protein and is therefore being explored as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
