The structural analysis of T807 has been shown to have binding affinity for neuronal death, and clinical use has demonstrated that T807 can enter the central nervous system. A study in Sprague-Dawley rats has shown that T807 is able to induce symptoms similar to those seen in patients with Parkinson's disease, including degeneration of neurons in the occipital cortex. The effective dose for T807 is unknown; however, it is believed to be more efficient than other PET tracers currently available.
