The polymer concentration of 1-Azido-2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethane can be determined by measuring the intensity of the emission peak at 612 nm when it is excited with a wavelength of 355 nm. The intramolecular hydrogen bond between the azide group and the 2'-hydroxyl group stabilizes this molecule, which has been shown to have a phase transition temperature of -40°C.
