Description:Nutlin is a synthetic compound that inhibits the activity of the Mcl-1 protein, which helps to regulate apoptosis. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells and induce significant cytotoxicity in cancer cells. In transfection experiments, Nutlin inhibited the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of wild-type dna and induced a greater degree of apoptosis when used with a mutant form of dna. Nutlin also showed minimal toxicity in experimental models.
