Product Information
Heclin is a small molecule with immunomodulatory effects that targets the ubiquitin ligase. The activator of heclin is the lysine residue of ubiquitin, which allows for the binding of heclin to the ubiquitin ligase. Heclin binds to lysine residues in the ubiquitin ligases and inhibits their activity by preventing them from binding to their substrate, thereby inhibiting protein degradation. Heclin also has antimicrobial properties and can be used as an alternative treatment for microbial infections in patients with impaired renal function who are undergoing hemodialysis or kidney transplantation. It has been shown that heclin causes cancer cells to enter into autophagy and die by activating toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) on tumor cells.
