Description:

3-(Piperidin-4-yl)propanamide (3PPPA) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent that binds to the cyclooxygenase enzyme, leading to the inhibition of prostaglandins and thromboxanes. 3PPPA has been shown to be effective in treating tumors in mice and has antitumor activity. In addition, 3PPPA has been shown to inhibit metastases in mice by inhibiting tumor cell adhesion to endothelial cells. However, it is not clear whether 3PPPA binds directly to the cyclooxygenase enzyme or interacts with other proteins.br>br>

3PPPA can exist as two tautomers: keto and enol. The keto form predominates at neutral pH and the enol form predominates at acidic pH. The enol form is more potent than the keto form due to its hydroxyl group which forms hydrogen bonds with COX enzymes.br
