PK150 is an inorganic acid that is used as a cross-linking agent for the preparation of biopolymers. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus and other bacteria by binding to the bacterial cell wall. PK150 has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on infectious diseases and may be able to reposition drugs that are no longer useful because of resistance. The drug is not active against covid-19 pandemic or most fluoroquinolones, which may make it a candidate for future drug repositioning.
