It inhibits the activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor, EGFR, as well as other growth factors. JNJ0966 blocks the kinase signaling pathways in cells and prevents the phosphorylation of tyrosine residues on proteins that are involved in cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation. JNJ0966 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. This drug also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which may stem from inhibition of cytokines such as IL-2 or TNF-α.
