Ambuic acid is a cyclic peptide that belongs to the class of compounds. It has been shown to have potent activity against mouse tumors, with a fetal bovine origin. Ambuic acid is also effective in treating infectious diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis. The structure of ambuic acid consists of four amino acids: glycine, proline, methionine and 2-aminobutyric acid. Ambuic acid may be synthesized by reacting anhydrous hydroxyl group with glycine, proline and methionine in the presence of formaldehyde. Ambuic acid was found to be effective in the treatment of bacterial strains resistant to other antibiotics due to its structural analysis.
