Product Information

Name:
Fonadelpar
Description:

Fonadelpar is a drug formulated for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It is also used in conjunction with other drugs to treat dyslipidemia. Fonadelpar is a prodrug, which is metabolized by hydrolysis to form an active metabolite, 4-amino-N-(6-chloroquinoxalinyl)benzenesulfonamide (4-AQBS). This prodrug has been shown to inhibit phospholipase A2 and platelet aggregation and stimulates the production of prostacyclin, which are all beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease. Fonadelpar has also been shown to have diagnostic properties due to its ability to bind with high affinity to platelets and erythrocytes in the blood. The prodrug can be detected using a variety of analytical techniques such as gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, or colorimetric assays.
