The inhibition of PAI-1 by TM5441 has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells, as well as inhibit tumor growth. TM5441 has also been shown to reduce cardiac hypertrophy and reverse metabolic disorders caused by fatty acid overload. This drug has not been tested in humans, but it has been shown to be safe for use in mice and rats.
