Product Information
- N-(6-((2-Aminophenyl)amino)-6-oxohexyl)-4-methylbenzamide
RGFP 109 is a compound that has been shown to inhibit the activity of DNA methyltransferases, which are enzymes that catalyze the transfer of methyl groups to the cytosine residues in DNA. RGFP 109 inhibits cell proliferation and induces cancer cell death by inhibiting the growth of new cells through the inhibition of histone H3 lysine 9 (H3K9) methylation. This inhibition leads to loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and subsequent apoptosis. RGFP 109 also has an effect on basic structure, as it slows down polymerase chain reaction (PCR) time in skin cancer cells. The efficacy of RGFP 109 is long-term and its effectiveness against malignant brain tumors has been demonstrated in animal models using a rotarod test.
