Product Information
Antirhine is a skeleton-based, synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It also has an antiproliferative effect on MCF-7 cells, which are human adenocarcinoma. Antirhine is an analog of the alkaloid antineoplaston A10 and inhibits the same cellular targets as other quaternary alkaloids with cytotoxic effects. The anticancer activity of Antirhine may be due to its ability to selectively inhibit protein synthesis in rapidly proliferating cells. This drug also acts as an inhibitor of DNA synthesis, leading to cell death by apoptosis.
