Cyclohexyl methanesulfonate is a low-energy radical that can be synthesized using hydrochloric acid or sodium carbonate in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid. The synthesis requires a hydroxybenzoic acid and a trifluoromethanesulfonic acid for the formation of cyclohexane.
