Diundecylamine is a fatty acid amine glycol ester. It has a hydroxyl group, which reacts with a molybdenum surface to form an adsorptive film with a viscosity that varies with the water vapor content and temperature. This film can be used as a substrate for the production of polyurethane. The detergency properties of diundecylamine are due to its aliphatic hydrocarbons, which are similar to those found in fatty acids.
