Description:
2,2,5,5-Tetramethylimidazolidin-4-one (TTI) is a sulfonylurea compound that has been shown to inhibit influenza virus replication in cell culture. It has also been shown to be effective against avian influenza and other viruses. TTI inhibits the activity of influenza virus by binding to an active site on the virus's enzyme neuraminidase. This prevents the release of progeny virions from infected cells and blocks the spread of infection.
