This drug has been shown to inhibit the uptake of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in brain tissue, suggesting that it may be used for the treatment of epilepsy. 4-(1-Naphthylvinyl)pyridine inhibits choline acetyltransferase and also binds to acetylcholine receptors. It has been shown to be effective against carbonyl group and hydrogen bond inhibitors, but is not reversible.
