2-Chlorohippuric acid is a synthetic, non-natural molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of liver cells. This drug also has an analytical method for detecting the presence of 2-chlorohippuric acid in urine samples. The terminal half-life is about 30 minutes, and this drug also inhibits the synthesis of hippuric acid, which is a metabolite of benzoic acid. The acylation reaction enhances the elimination of 2-chlorohippuric acid from the body.
