This compound has been shown to denature proteins and inhibit their enzymatic activity. 5-(Propan-2-yl)-1,3-thiazole also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes at the site of mRNA translation. The minimal inhibitory concentration for this compound is not yet known.
