The activation energies for 2-undecylimidazole are around 18 kcal/mol. 2-Undecylimidazole has been shown to inhibit in vitro growth of fungi by binding to the fungal cell wall or membrane and inhibiting proton transport across the cell wall or membrane. It also acts as a corrosion inhibitor on metal surfaces.
