Product Information
Crassanine is an enol ether with a spirocyclic structure. It is a natural product that has been isolated from the fungus Crassotunicium fimbriatum. The compound was first synthesized in 1887 by oxidation of the corresponding indole. The enol ether group is converted to an oxetane ring through oxidative cyclization, yielding quaternary carbon centers. This reaction yields yields of 64% for the desired product.
