Odoratone's lead inhibitor is DT-28-01. DT-28-01 inhibits PTP1B activity in vitro with an IC50 value of 8 nM. This inhibitor also exhibits significant inhibitory activities against other PTPs, including PTP1A, PTP2C, and PTP3A. In vivo studies have shown that DT-28-01 significantly reduces body weight gain in mice and improves insulin sensitivity. The mechanism of action for this effect is not known.
