Product Information
NSC156529 is a drug candidate that inhibits the enzyme glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). GAPDH is an essential enzyme in the glycolytic pathway that converts glucose to pyruvate. NSC156529 has been shown to inhibit platelet activation and regulate platelet function in vitro. This compound targets human cancer cells by inhibiting their aerobic glycolysis and inducing apoptosis, which leads to tumor cell death. NSC156529 also has the ability to interact with tumor xenografts and cancer cells in vivo, leading to tumor regression. NSC156529 was effective at inhibiting the growth of cancer cells in a mouse leukemia model with little effect on normal blood platelets.
