4-(Bromomethyl)-2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-triazole (BPT) is a trifluoromethyl sulfone that is stabilized by intramolecular hydrogen bonds. It reacts with amines to form the corresponding sulfones. BPT undergoes an intramolecular hydrogen bond with chloride to form the corresponding sulfonyl chloride. BPT also reacts with sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate to form the corresponding sodium salt.
