Description:
Ylangenol is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been isolated from the leaves of the ylang-ylang tree. It inhibits melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity, which may contribute to its anticancer properties. Ylangenol has also been shown to induce apoptotic cell death in mouse melanoma cells. This compound inhibits bacterial growth by binding to bacterial ribosomes, preventing protein synthesis and causing cell death.
