Morroniside is a natural oroxylum indicum extract that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat deficiency type urinary disorders. The chemical structure of morroniside is similar to that of oroxylum indicum, which contains fatty acid and fructus ligustri, but morroniside also contains sodium citrate. Morroniside can be prepared as a powder or decoction, and the symptoms of use include lack of appetite, cramps in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal problems. Morroniside may also be used for treating bladder problems such as frequent urination or incontinence.
