Product Information

Name:
2,5-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid Butylamine Salt
Description:

2,5-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid Butylamine Salt is an antibiotic with a potent inhibitory effect on the growth of Clostridium perfringens. It inhibits the enzyme phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase, which is involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine. 2,5-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid Butylamine Salt has been shown to inhibit the production of glycoconjugates and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI) imaging studies have shown that these carbohydrates are important for bacterial cell wall structure.
2,5-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid Butylamine Salt has also been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
