Description:

Gomisin H is a benzoyl derivative of the natural compound protocatechuic acid. This non-selective cation is able to permeate cell membranes and inhibit the transport of certain drugs, such as multidrugs, through the cell membrane. Gomisin H has been shown to be a potent antioxidant and to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells in vitro. The apoptotic cell death process can be induced by gomisin H in cancer cells, but not in healthy cells.
