Nicotinic acid-(ring-d4) is an acidic, spectroscopically pure form of nicotinic acid. It has been used in plant resistance studies and for the orientation of hornworms on plants. Nicotinic acid-(ring-d4) also has surface protein binding properties and is a chromatographic technique that can be used to measure the concentration of acetonitrile. This compound is used to calibrate mass spectrometers and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in clinical studies. Nicotinic acid-(ring-d4) is a tryptic digestable, isotopically pure form of nicotinic acid, which can be administered orally as a monotherapy or in combination with other drugs.
